A Taste of Norwegian Farm Life

Experience authentic Norwegian farm life with a visit to the historic Øvre-Eide Farm, nestled in the picturesque countryside by Lake Jordal.

Upon arrival, your warm and welcoming host will introduce you to the charming farm animals, including fjord and døla horses, as well as spel sheep—breeds that have been part of Norway’s rural heritage for centuries.

As you explore the farm, learn about its rich history dating back to the 16th century, brought to life through engaging stories about traditional Norwegian farm life.

Step inside the main house to indulge in a selection of local homemade treats, including almond pralines, pastries with fresh berries and cream, along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

During this cozy gathering, your host will also present the Nordhordalandsbunad, a beautifully crafted traditional costume that serves as a cherished cultural symbol of the Nordhordaland region.

This intimate and immersive farm experience offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and Norwegian hospitality in a stunning rural setting.

Notes: It is recommended to dress in layers to accommodate changing weather conditions and wear comfortable walking shoes. Walking is at your discretion, with approximately 100 meters on uneven terrain and dirt/gravel paths. A comfort stop with restroom facilities is available at the farm.

A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures, and some may have limited capacity. This SeaDream Yachting Land Adventure program is subject to changes or restrictions at any time. Final departure times will be advised on-board.
