    Bridgetown, Barbados

SeaDream uses the port of Bridgetown as the hub for their Southern Caribbean voyages as well as some voyages that cross the Atlantic. The Island itself includes UNESCO Heritage Sites, excellent beaches and history dating back to 1628. The climate is tropical with constant warm temperatures during the year cooled by light trade winds.

Marvel at the natural gifts of São Miguel Island, a spectacular Azorean island shaped by volcanic activity and carpeted from shore to shore with lush vegetation. At the Lagoa das Sete Cidades’s twin lakes, uncover the romantic tale of a star-crossed couple, a princess and a shepherd, whose tears of heartbreak created the two adjoining yet differently hued lakes, each the color of one of the lover’s eyes. Stroll among stately Baroque buildings in marvelous Ribeira Grande, and then ascend to Pico do Carvão for glorious views of the entire island. While traveling through São Miguel’s verdant valleys, you might taste the bounty of the island at a flourishing pineapple or tea plantation, or for a more exhilarating experience seek out the spouting geysers and hot springs that dot the Furnas Valley. Go off the beaten track on a 4x4 vehicle through the stunning Serra de Água de Pau mountain range, reveling in picture-perfect vistas of the shimmering Lagoa do Fogo, or Fire Lake. From its dramatic shoreline to its soaring peaks, São Miguel Island never ceases to astonish.

    Lisbon

Portugal's bustling capital showcases a rich contrast of the historical and modern. Situated near the Tagus River and endlessly sunny, Lisbon embodies a unique beauty and an internationally acclaimed architectural singularity. Its charming hilly neighborhoods boast winding, cobblestone streets and pastel-painted homes and cafés, which happily serve up the city’s signature cuisine, including pastel de nata and custard tarts. From imposing Sao Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the city’s Old Town, Tagus Estuary, and suspension bridge; the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles.

  • Ponta Delgada, Azores - Fire Lake & Old Ribeira Grande

    Description

Joining this land adventure allows you to experience two distinctly different sites; the charming little town of Ribeira Grande and the dramatic scenery of and around Fire Lake. Ribeira Grande, built along a river by the first settlers arriving in the beginning of the 16th century is picturesquely located on a volcanic plateau above the sea. It offers a charming historic center, whose narrow streets deserve a moment of your time as you walk along its cobblestone streets. Soak in the pretty examples of urban architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries, including the Town hall, with its impressive exterior stairs and the parish church of Espiritu Santo from the 17th century with its sumptuous facade; one of the most attractive Baroque structures in the archipelago. Continue along mountain roads to the summit of Pico da Barrosa Mountain, offering stunning views of the Fire Lake, said to be one of the most beautiful of the island's lakes. Return to Ponta Delgada along the new road, descending to Lagoa. At a pineapple plantation, learn about the process of cultivating and marketing this fruit.

    Notes

The Azores Islands are very beautiful and can best be enjoyed in fine weather. In case of poor visibility, this land adventure will visit the passion fruit liquor factory or the ceramic factory or the “Culture House” instead of the pineapple plantation, depending on the day of the week. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. All adventures and prices in the SeaDream Yachting Land Adventures program are subject to change. Final departures times will be published onboard.
