The Top 10 Yachting Destinations for Romance

The most romantic places in the world are both far-reaching, diverse, and admittedly subjective. But their one common thread is that they are defined by the irresistible allure of a tucked-away escape for two.

The endless sunshine of the midnight sun deep above the Arctic Circle. No matter where you choose to travel this year or beyond, each of SeaDream Yacht Club’s destination-focused itineraries is ideally suited for a holiday for two, with plenty of relaxing onboard “couples time” to lounge, dine, spa, and sleep under the stars.

Island Hopping Through Greece

Among the thousands of Greek islands that have graced the Aegean and Ionian Seas, only 250 of them are occupied. Tucked away in seaside harbors and secluded coastlines, these small Greek island retreats deliver incredible food and wine, otherworldly beaches, white-washed and blue-domed architecture, and ruins of ancient civilizations. Although travelers have undoubtedly heard of—and perhaps visited—such marquee isles as Santorini and Mykonos, others are awakening to a more authentic perspective of exploring the region. One where the nimbleness of yachting allows access to uncharted destinations, with time to dive deeper and linger longer for the romantic escape of a lifetime.

As SeaDream I and SeaDream II drop anchor in these storied waters, expect long days of sunshine, quaint fishing villages, virgin beaches, and UNESCO-protected sites steeped in history, character and myth. Places like car-free Hydra, tiny Delos, UNESCO-Awarded Volos, sophisticated yet rustic Andros, and pine-forested Skopelos, the filming site of Mama Mia. If that doesn’t entice you, consider Patmos, the “holy island” where John of Patmos wrote the Book of Revelation, Symi, standing guard over an eighteenth-century monastery, and volcanic Milos, where the Venus de Milo statue was discovered. Whether you want to dine at a tony beach club or snack on freshly caught fish with your toes in the sand and a drink in hand; hike to ancient architecture or browse art galleries and upscale boutiques—there’s a Greek island sure to tickle your fancy.

The Amalfi Coast

Few places in the world can rival the almost indescribable beauty of the Amalfi Coast, known as Costiera Amalfitana to locals. The 34-mile-long region spans the coastline on the northern coast of the Salerno Gulf on the Tyrrhenian Sea, located in the Province of Salerno of southern Italy. Accented by 500-foot-tall cliffs, dozens and dozens of endless white-sand beaches, and abundant charming seaside towns like Amalfi, Capri, and Positano, the coastline offers an unprecedented appeal to discerning travelers seeking a romantic escape. Here, SeaDream anchors in iconic destinations and ventures into colorful towns, providing an unsurpassed yachting experience highlighted by intimate discoveries ashore.

Bonifacio, Corsica, France

Bonifacio is one of our guests’ favorite awe-inspiring arrivals. As we approach, the Captain navigates along the iconic limestone cliffs, giving guests a sea view of incredible Bonifacio and the great Aragon steps leading to the water’s edge. The Captain will turn the yacht around and back into a very impressive fjord-like marina, just steps away from beautifully preserved medieval architecture, cobblestone streets, quaint shops, and bars and restaurants. For couples fascinated by Corsica’s rich history and culture, sweeping sanding bays, and high-quality cork, harvested from its abundant cork oak trees for water and wine bottles, there is much to unpack here.

Bordeaux, France

France’s Atlantic shore between Pointe de Grave, at the mouth of the Gironde River, and Biarritz, at the foot of the Pyrenées, is known as Côte d’Argent. The river narrows near Bordeaux, center to one of the world’s most celebrated wine-producing regions. More than 10,000 vineyards dot the countryside, providing most of the Epicurean nation’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes. During our 2025 & 2026 seasons, SeaDream docks in the heart of town and overnights in this charming destination—reputed to be the “loveliest spot in all of Bordeaux”—allowing guests to venture off the beaten path and sample their choice of varietals. What could be more romantic? With hundreds of historical buildings and monuments, dozens of art galleries and museums, beautiful parks, and distinctive French cuisine at guests’ feet, Bordeaux is simply unmissable.

Untouched Caribbean

Some travelers maintain that “the islands that time forgot” are the most romantic, including the smaller, lesser-known islands nestled in the Leeward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles, and the Grenadines. Islands like St. Kitts, Saba, Bequia, and Mayreau, primarily because of their untouched natural beauty and lack of tourism development, making them truly secluded and off the beaten path. Most notable of the Leeward Island gems is the tiny paradise of Anguilla, boasting limestone caves to explore, sea turtles and native birds to observe, and the most incredible sandy beaches in all the Caribbean. In fact, of Anguilla’s the more than 30 accessible beaches, almost all of them are deserted—it is rare that you will encounter another couple there on any given day. Now that’s romantic.

Joining the list of most magical are Beef Island, whose white-sand beaches and unspoiled nature embody the best of the British Virgin Islands; the Windward Islands’ gem of St. Lucia; and St. John’s delightful Cruz Bay, located on the west coast of the island, for snorkeling and diving spots off perfectly manicured beaches.

St. Barths, French West Indies

The yachting playground of St. Barths radiates the ambiance of the South of France with a chic Caribbean flair, making it arguably one of the most romantic spots in the Caribbean. Celebrated for its exclusivity, luxe atmosphere, white-sand beaches, and unmatched turquoise waters, SeaDream overnights in this elite yachting playground, adding a French-infused nighttime element to an already romantic destination. Now that’s a date night you won’t want to miss.

Îles des Saintes, Guadeloupe

Îles des Saintes is consistently one of the top 5 islands that our guests count as their “favorite Caribbean destination for romance.” Îles des Saintes, otherwise known as Les Saintes—an archipelago of nine islets, only two of which are inhabited—boasts beautiful bays, sheltered coves, exceptional snorkeling, and quaint, colorful seaside villages. SeaDream Yacht Club drops anchor in Les Saintes Bay off the island of Terre de Haut, considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world, accessible only by private plane, ferry, or small sailing vessel. The bay is nothing short of a yachting paradise, although some claim it best experienced from above, through Fort Napoleon, an invigorating hike from the harbor.

The Bahamas

For your romantic getaway, enjoy the ease of yachting roundtrip from Palm Beach, Florida, while indulging in a relaxed yachting lifestyle, refined amenities, and personalized service, with one crew member for every guest. The Bahamas burst with their abundant stunning beaches, untouched nature, and distinct biodiversity—nestled in an archipelago of sheltered cays and islets. As you drop anchor along the coastline, discover more secluded beaches, tranquil lagoons, and cozy coves than you imagined possible. With 7 destinations in 7 days, and dates available every April, the Bahamas is your perfect getaway.
