for those who have experienced it all
Accessible only by ferry, foot, or chartered boat, these idyllic beaches are among the most secluded in the southern Caribbean and, arguably, the world. Each provides privacy and tranquility, as well as ample opportunity to snorkel, dive, hike, and bike its distinctive underwater environment and shoreside terrain. And with one hidden gem more pristine than the next, each is guaranteed to delightfully surprise even the most discerning and well-traveled.
Colombier, St. Barts
By far the quietest secret spot of St. Barts. Two trails lead to the beach, where turquoise waters, forever white sand, and a densely green island backdrop welcome those seeking respite and relaxation. Sail the Leeward Coast, and once anchored at Colombier Beach, swim ashore.
Jost van Dyke, British Virgin Islands
Home to our signature Champagne & Caviar Splash®, Jost van Dyke’s White Bay is the epitome of a barefoot island, where palm-lined white-sand beaches greet curious travelers. We offer guests the opportunity to hike and snorkel this secret paradise or simply stroll a few meters down the beach to engage with locals at the nearby Soggy Dollar Bar.
Îles des Saintes, Guadeloupe
Not just one, but many. Also known as Les Saintes, this small archipelago of eight incredible islands off the southern coast of Guadeloupe is home to seriously secluded beaches and coral-rich reefs brimming with marine life—best explored by small boat. Its mountainous backdrop provides the perfect opportunity to explore, hike, or bike.
Rodney Bay, St. Lucia
Tucked away in St. Lucia’s northwest coast, this horseshoe-shaped bay is defined by its endless stretches of white-sand beaches and lagoons. We offer guests an opportunity to hike to nearby Pigeon Island, once frequented by pirates, and explore 18th-century military ruins, including Fort Rodney, which affords panoramic views of the bay. All with sufficient downtime to explore the area’s upmarket restaurants and cocktail bars.
Shoal Bay, Anguilla
This slice of paradise in the Caribbean boasts the softest sand, clearest waters, and most private restaurants of any beach in Anguilla. Its iridescent white shore gets its distinctive sheen from tiny pieces of pure white shell. Appreciated mostly by snorkelers and divers, only those who know of this secret spot enjoy the privilege of exploring it.
Tobago Cays, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
This marine reserve, protected by Horseshoe Reef, boasts five uninhabited islands. Only private yachts and a handful of boats anchor here for those eager to explore exceptional sand and sea, where parrotfish, trunkfish, hawksbill turtles, and black-bellied whistling ducks abound. Petit Tabac’s isolated shores are the ideal spot for a picnic lunch, and the hiking trails off Petit Rameau offer panoramic views of the Grenadines, complete with otherworldly flora and fauna, including hawksbill and leatherback sea turtles, geckos, bronze anoles, and emerald-green iguanas.
Culebrita Island, Puerto Rican Virgin Islands
Accessible only by private boat from the main island of Culebra, this deserted isle is, quite simply, the Puerto Rico Archipelago's crown jewel. Part of the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge, there are only six beaches on this island, each home to a distinct species of wildlife, from the green sea turtle to the brown pelican. Two shallow lagoons bordered by mangrove fringe serve as an important wetland habitat for local wildlife.
